Simple Playsilk Project: Flying Fairies

Turning your mini playsilks into flying fairies is a simple project you can share with even the littlest helpers!

Gahter your supplies

Gather your supplies

STEP 1:  Gather your supplies.  You will need a couple mini playsilks, a few cotton balls or something else round – a fallen walnut, a bouncy ball, a peach pit, a pretend orange from the play kitchen, perhaps.  You will also need some sort of string and a pair of scissors to cut your string.  Pretty simple materials list!

STEP 2:  Place cotton balls (or other collected round object) in the center of a mini playsilk.  This is a great step for the littlest of your helpers.

STEP 4:  Tie a bow around the neck of the fairy.  Be sure to have cut your string nice and long so that the ends can be used as a kite string by which you can fly your fairy.  This is a great step for those learning to tie – way more fun than tying old shoes!

That’s it!  Now grab those strings and run to see how high your fairy can fly!
